WestCan Projects Ltd. provides a wide range of engineering, construction and consulting services to the resource sector. From design right through to implementation, WestCan's experienced team offers the abilities, skills and equipment needed to efficiently deliver any type of project.

Engineering Services

WestCan offers a range of engineering and surveying services including but not limited to Site Plans, Erection Procedures, TMP's, QA/QC, QMS Plans. Our staff has worked for a variety of clients including oil and gas, mining, forestry, highways and municipalities. In addition to survey and engineering, WestCan is capable of providing contract administration, tendering and project management.

WestCan's Professional Engineers are registered in both Alberta and British Columbia and include both structural and hydrology specialists. To complement our professional staff, we have full survey, design and drafting services to offer many custom engineering services tailored to meet the needs of the client. In addition, WestCan has a full complement of field equipment to carry out all necessary assessments and monitoring.

Design Services

WestCan can provide a wide range of design and drafting services. Our staff has worked for a variety of clients including oil and gas, mining, forestry, highways and municipalities. Past projects have ranged in size from small forestry crossing structures to major highways projects.

WestCan has several experienced technical design and drafting staff. We have a full line of current software and hardware to complement the engineering services including Eagle Point and AutoCAD which are capable of 3D modeling, road and bridge design and slope analysis. We also have complete field survey equipment including Total Stations, laser levels and GPS units.

Environmental Services

WestCan is able to provide a diverse range of environmental expertise and solutions to our clients. The scope of our clients' needs is what drives our dedicated team of professionals. We are able to provide cost-effective and environmentally sound solutions whilst minimizing the ecological footprint of a client's project.

Our team of skilled professionals which is comprised of Agrologists, Biologists, Engineers and Foresters and technician support staff pride ourselves on working together with the client. WestCan is dedicated in providing our clients with practical, economical solutions that meet or exceed both federal and provincial environmental regulatory standards.

Construction Management Services

RESOURCE & ACCESS STRUCTURES

WestCan is able to provide resource-based industries with cost effective and innovative construction
solutions. Our company can design, build and install the most economical structures required to meet your company's needs.

DRAINAGE STRUCTURES

WestCan is able to provide innovative and cost effective solutions for stream crossings. We are skilled in the design and installation of structures that are environmentally sensitive, require minimal site disturbance and allow for safe fish passage.

WestCan employees include experienced professional engineers and biologists that are able to complete any project from initial concept thru to final construction.

ACCESS & DEVELOPMENT

WestCan provides general services in areas such as resource road construction, oilfield construction, mine site development, reclamation, deactivation, rock revetment, retaining structures and general earthworks. We can provide hourly or contract pricing for most projects and are available for projects throughout western Canada.

Erosion Control

WestCan is able to provide a wide variety erosion control services ranging from hydroseeding to major rock revetments to full revegetation and smaller site stabilization techniques. Past clients have included oil and gas, mining, forestry, highways and municipalities. WestCan is experienced in project management, preparing sediment plans, permitting, reporting and monitoring of such projects.

WestCan has a highly qualified sediment and erosion staff including Certified Professionals in Sediment and Erosion Control along with Professional Agrologists and technical staff. Our professionals have been retained to train contractor staff for a host of clients. WestCan has a full complement of field equipment to carry out all necessary hydroseeding, assessments and monitoring.

Materials Testing

WestCan provides a wide range of technical and professional testing services including compaction testing, quality control, aggregate and soils testing, and survey inspection. Our staff has worked with a variety of clients including major mining projects, oil and gas, forestry, highways and municipalities. To complete our testing services, WestCan can provide project management and a range of engineering services.

WestCan has both a mobile and stationary materials testing laboratory in order to bring our testing services wherever they are required. We are capable of completing a wide range of tests including grain size analysis, moisture/density relationships (Proctor), Atterbergs, aggregate testing and quality management.
